Yolo County VINELink Coverage
The Yolo County Sheriff's Office uses California VINE. The service is free and anonymous. The California State Sheriffs' Association delivers it statewide. It can report a person's custody status and support alerts for a release, a pending scheduled release, or a transfer to another county facility or state prison. That helps after a booking at Monroe Detention Center, the primary intake point for people arrested in Yolo County.
VINE is not the Sheriff's monthly booking report. It holds no booking photos. Nor does it list everyone arrested by Davis, Woodland, West Sacramento, UC Davis Police, CHP, or YCSO. A person cited and released may never show a long stay, and another may still be in intake. The Yolo County recent-arrests guide explains the other official record channels.
Check a Yolo County Arrest
Start at the official California page. Give the live form only the details it asks for. A name search can return more than one person. Similar names, spelling variants, and missing details make a careful match essential before you trust a Yolo County arrest result.
- Open VINELink California and select the available California agency or county search.
- Enter the name or identifying number requested by the form.
- Compare the agency, status, facility, and identifier for each possible match.
- Open the matching record and read release or transfer information in context.
- Use the registration control if that record permits alerts.
The California VINELink search screen is the official entry point.

This screen supports a person-specific check, not broad browsing of booking photos.
Yolo VINELink Result Fields
The live interface controls which fields appear. YCSO tells users to review the agency, the status, and any release or transfer data. Those fields can change. They shift as the person moves through intake, housing, release, or transfer. An identifier helps sort out similar names. It does not remove the need to verify the match.
| Field | What it can tell you |
|---|---|
| Name or identifier | Helps distinguish possible matches without proving identity by itself. |
| Custody status | Shows the state currently reported to VINE, subject to agency updates. |
| Agency or facility | Names the participating custodian tied to the result. |
| Release information | May report release or pending release for an eligible sentenced person. |
| Transfer information | May reflect movement to another county facility or state prison. |
Charges can change after booking. Yolo Superior Court may reduce, dismiss, or resolve them as the case moves forward. VINE does not show those events. The court record holds the filed-case details and the final disposition.
Register for Yolo Custody Alerts
Registration starts from an eligible person's result. The live VINELink screen is the final word on how notices get delivered. California guidance offers phone and email alerts. Phone signup asks for the number to notify and a four-digit PIN that acknowledges or stops an automated call, and you should never enter someone else's number, email, or PIN.
- Select the notification action on the correct custody result.
- Choose an available delivery method and enter contact details that belong to you.
- Create the requested PIN for phone alerts and store it privately.
- Complete any confirmation or contact-validation prompt.
- Update or cancel registration through the options supplied.
The captured VINELink registration flow shows the service interface without real personal details.

Read each prompt before submitting because contact and confirmation fields may change.
California VINE Notification Layer
Statewide VINE handles Yolo custody alerts. The YCSO VINE page lists release, pending-release, and transfer alerts, plus telephone access at 1-877-411-5588. That county statement matters. The sheriff's office lists no booking app. Treat any third-party jail app as unofficial, never as a roster or alert source.
The Sheriff's explanation also keeps VINE in its lane. It tracks selected events for an incarcerated person but promises no photo, no full arrest list, and no court outcome. Yolo Alert and city Nixle services send broad emergency messages, not arrest coverage. Yolo County District Attorney Victim Services, at 530-666-8187, helps victims but does not run a booking search. The official YCSO VINE explanation documents county participation.

Check this county source with the live interface when alert options matter.
Verify Fresh Yolo Bookings
VINE data can lag behind a fresh arrest. Intake takes time to reach the system. Yolo County posts no live searchable roster with a promised refresh time. For a just-booked person, call Monroe Detention Center Records at 530-668-5245. Staff there can confirm custody, charges, and bail. They can also confirm court date, arresting agency, arrest date, housing, tentative release date, and outside-agency holds.
Compare VINE against other Yolo County sources. A city police log may document the incident. The YCSO monthly report covers arrests the Sheriff made, and the court portal picks up the case after filing. The 24 Hour Arrests page explains why a same-day answer rests on the custody line.
Yolo VINELink Search Limits
County, state-prison, and federal custody are separate systems. VINE cannot find people in the Federal Bureau of Prisons or in ICE custody. Someone sentenced to California state prison may appear in CDCR's CIRIS. Federal sentenced custody belongs in the BOP locator. ICE or CBP custody belongs in the ICE locator. A Yolo VINE result settles neither.
Release does not erase a police, booking, or court record. VINE may stop showing that custody state while an agency record remains. A blank result may mean intake is incomplete. The person may have been cited and released, or another agency holds them. The details also may not have matched. Ask the originating office, and skip aggregators or commercial photo pages.
After a Yolo Custody Change
It tells you something changed and points you toward the source. A release notice might follow bail, a court order, a completed term, or citation paperwork. A transfer notice only means a new custodian holds the person. When an alert touches a safety plan or court matter, write down the time it arrived. Then call the agency named in the notice and ask for the current status.
After someone leaves Monroe, YCSO Records still answers for the custody information Yolo County can lawfully share. A move into state prison shifts that duty to CDCR, and CIRIS becomes the right public search. A transfer to a different county means using that county's own jail channel. VINE can link the stages together. Even so, each receiving office keeps its own record and its own update schedule.
Guard the notification setup itself. Keep the registration PIN and confirmation details private, and make sure the phone or email on file stays active. VINELink's own controls handle changes or cancellations. Alerts can land at bad moments, so never register contact details that another person controls. YCSO calls VINE anonymous. Still, the registrant must protect access to the device and account that receive the notices.
Victims needing more than a status ping can turn to Yolo County District Attorney Victim Services. That office explains support resources and custody-change rights under California law. Its job is not the same as Monroe Records, VINELink, or the court portal. One assists victims. One reports custody, one sends notices, and one tracks the filed case. Keeping those roles straight makes any Yolo County custody check far more dependable.
Context helps when you revisit a notice weeks later. Jot down the agency, facility, status, and time shown. A screenshot is not a permanent record, though, since a corrected status may replace it. Suppose a release notice and the jail's answer disagree. Ask when each system last updated, then follow the current custodian's instruction. The court portal may clarify a hearing or order, but the jail runs the release process.
Check the registration again after any transfer. An alert built around one facility may not carry the same event types or delivery options at the next custodian. Look up the new agency in VINELink and confirm the notification still runs. Silence is not proof of custody. A missed call or email can stem from device settings, a changed address, blocked calls, or a plain service delay.
